Okoth Okoth

Service Delivery Associate

Okoth is a Service Delivery Associate at Shamiri institute. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Maseno University and is currently pursuing his MSc in Public Health at Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology.

Previously, Okoth served as a Hub Coordinator at Shamiri Institute, where he set up the first satellite hub for Shamiri Institute in Kisumu, Kenya, as part of its expansion to reach 1000+ youths in rural and peri-urban settings with its intervention, Shamiri Intervention, a simple stigma-free intervention that promotes youth flourishing and mental health.

Okoth also worked as a Research Associate for one year at Shamiri Institute. Before joining Shamiri Institute, he volunteered with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the International Youth Alliance for Family Planning (IYAFP), where he created a platform for young people to participate in policy, advocacy, and implementation of SRHR programs.

At 24, he received the Hidden Eco-Hero Award hosted by Samsung Engineering Tunza Eco-Generation. Okoth is an early career mental health researcher and an op-ed writer.
